Organizational & Human Resource Management


The major in Organizational and Human Resource Management is interdisciplinary in orientation and consciously integrates complementary materials from courses offered in other departments within the College. The required and general education courses provide the basic foundation on which to build the organizational, human and financial dimensions in the management of organizations in a technological and scientific global environment. Emphasis is placed on the development of oral, written and analytic skills coupled with the skills need to manipulate electronic communications including the computer. Additionally, students are introduced to the methods of inquiry used in social research and to apply them to organizational problems. Students are encouraged to engage in decision-making and problem solving both on an individual basis and as members of a social group interacting under conditions of certainty and uncertainty.


This major prepares student for positions in all types of institutions and organizations as well as preparation for advanced studies in business, law and finance. It introduces students to the theories and principles of Human Resource Management and emphasizes the application and investigation of those principles to problems faced by the Human Resource Manager.

All persons wishing to enroll at Omega College, including students transferring from other institutions, must meet the general admission requirements of the College. In addition, students must meet the specific matriculation requirements set out for individual programmes of study. Those applicants who do not enter with the specific matriculation requirements or who do not place at College level on the College Entrance Test will be placed in the College Preparation Programme.
